Prosper Wakefield are pleased to announce the appointment of Conor Williams in the role of Community Insight Coordinator. This role is part of our ongoing commitment to the Health Determinants Research Collaboration Programme (HDRC).
Conor studied at Leeds University receiving a Masters in Mechatronics and Robotics. Since graduating Conor has pivoted towards work in the Voluntary and Community sector and has worked in the Wakefield district for over 3 years. This has been at Live Well Wakefield as a Social Prescriber, and as the Project Coordinator for the UKSPF Healthy Eating on a Budget Project.
Kath Lindley, CEO of Prosper Wakefield said:
“We are so excited to welcome Conor to the team, his appointment is a crucial part of the success of the programme as it’s about capturing real views, opinions and suggestions from the wider communities across the district. For me, the community insight is the heart of the programme as it pulls together the academic insight and makes sense of what that means to real people in real communities. ”
Conor commented:
“Throughout my time working in Wakefield, I’ve loved meeting and working with a diverse range of individuals and organisations across the district. My previous roles in social prescribing and coordinating the set-up of community food pantries and wraparound activities have all centred on improving the health and wellbeing of residents, and I’m looking forward to exploring another avenue for achieving this through research.
This exciting project will arm local communities with the tools, knowledge and capacity required to ensure their insights and needs are heard by decision-makers.”
