Created in partnership with Sam Teale Productions, the video shines a light on the work taking place in communities that are too often overlooked. It celebrates the individuals and groups who bring connection, creativity and hope to people across our district.
Throughout the film, you’ll hear from some truly inspiring community leaders including Dmitry from The Youth Association, Julie Green from Bless Community Support, the team at The Addy (Old Quarry Adventure Playground, Knottingley) and Steven from Empath Theatre Group. Each of them shares authentic insight into the challenges local people face – and the powerful difference grassroots support can make.
As a local-focused funder, we’re incredibly proud to play a small part in enabling this work to happen. Our grants are aimed at helping community groups to strengthen their services, reach more people and spark positive ripples that spread far beyond a single project. This video is a celebration of that impact; not ours alone, but all of ours, together.
Whether it’s supporting young people, tackling isolation, offering practical help, or building confidence through creativity, the Wakefield district is full of organisations quietly changing lives every day. We think this film captures that beautifully.
We hope you’ll take a moment to watch it, share it, and help us continue amplifying the brilliant work happening across our district.
Here’s to our communities and to the people who make them thrive.
