The team at Ridley & Hall were inspired to act after attending a We Are Wakefield networking event in October. With a speaking slot by Prosper Wakefield District and Wakefield Community Foundation, the event included a powerful presentation and video highlighting the shocking reality faced by over 6,000 children in the Wakefield district who don’t have a bed to sleep in. Many children are forced to sleep on cushions on the floor, in bathtubs, or in overcrowded and unsafe conditions.
This heartbreaking reality moved the team at Ridley & Hall to take action.
Natalie Hudson, Chartered Legal Executive at Ridley & Hall in South Elmsall, worked with the wider team to raffle three luxury Christmas hampers to raise funds, partnering with Halfpenny Lane School in Pontefract. They attended the school’s festive fayre, where their raffle gained incredible support from the local community.
The hampers, filled with generously donated items, were made possible through contributions from Ridley & Hall staff, clients, and Groundsure (their property search provider). Groundsure also donated an additional hamper, boosting the appeal’s offering.
In total, over 320 raffle tickets were sold, raising an amazing £860. Every penny raised will go directly to Zarach, the charity that supplies and delivers beds to families in need.
